Mini GT Collector Guide: Chase Cars, Scale & How to Collect
Mini GT is a premium 1:64 line from True Scale Miniatures (TSM) in Hong Kong. It launched in 2017 and quickly became a favourite of adult collectors.
Every Mini GT comes with rubber tires, accurate proportions and detailed printing, and it ships in a window box with a display base. It is especially strong on JDM cars, European supercars and race liveries.
What is a Mini GT chase car?
Some Mini GT releases come with a chase version: the same model in a different finish or with extra parts, packed at random among the regular cars.
- Same casting as the regular release, different color or finish
- Often hard to see from outside the box
- Check the release announcement to know which models have a chase
LHD and RHD versions
Many Mini GT cars are made in both left-hand drive (LHD) and right-hand drive (RHD) versions, with different model numbers. The box shows which one you have, and serious collectors often want both.
Mini GT vs Hot Wheels premium
Mini GT costs more than a Hot Wheels mainline car and is built to be displayed rather than played with. Compared with Hot Wheels premium lines, it usually has more accurate proportions and a larger focus on real race cars.

Mini GT questions
Is Mini GT the same scale as Hot Wheels?
Mini GT is a consistent 1:64. Hot Wheels is sold as roughly 1:64, but its castings vary in size, so Mini GT cars often look more true to life next to each other.
What do LHD and RHD mean on Mini GT boxes?
Left-hand drive and right-hand drive. Many Mini GT cars come in both versions with separate model numbers.
